is it like the nk7650? where you could charge whenever you want, even at half full, the 7650 battery wouldn't die quickly if you charged it from that
p800 battery
Yeah, i think its actually better tho, its lithium polymer, which has no memory effect, so you can charge it whenever yo want, i put mine on most nights anyway just cos its neater and the battery is fine 😃
nice one, today is the first day i'm charging my phone from 40% to full as i'm getting my lazy ass outta the house for lunch  but all other days i've waited for it to drain out, and if not, i just leave it connected to the computer over night to make sure it's drained
I have read somewhere that lithium polymer batteries only have a life of 3 years or so, no matter how you use them, dont know if it strue or not.
Nickel-cadmium batteries, currently the most common used in portables (18 in our sample used them), may gradually be phased out because of memory-drain problems. Recharging a nickel-cadmium battery that's not fully discharged can keep the battery from ever being fully charged again. NiMH (nickel-metal-hydride), which doesn't suffer from this problem and can last longer, has become an alternative for some vendors; we tested 17 notebooks that used this battery chemistry.
Lithium-polymer batteries, being developed by Valence Technology, may become another lithium-based power source. Still in its early development, the lithium-polymer battery looks like a sheet of plastic about the size of a playing card. Valence Technology claims that it weighs 75 percent less and will run four times longer on a single charge than a nickel-cadmium battery of similar weight. Lithium-polymer batteries can be molded into any shape. The batteries support high-energy densities, do not have memory-drain problems, and use environmentally safe materials. However, lithium-polymer batteries have a limited life c ycle of 175 hours and are not expected to be economically viable for several years.
here's another web site which has cool info on liionpols'

wtf
hm...P800 battery is really bad i guess. I noticed a couple of time that the battery will be flat within a day without heavy usage. Today, I went out around 4pm and took the phone off the cradle (charger) and then i left it on my bed when I came back. Around 9pm I received a call and I found out that the battery is at RED already. very strage, i didn't use the phone at all today....hmm....
The battery is actually one of the most advanced there is, check you have no programs in the background, use switcher or file manager. With you getting such a low usage time sounds like something is using all the power.
i agree, those who think the battery is crap must have a problem with the battery, maybe they didn't charge it fully at the start, or they're opening too many programmes and not closing them or something but definately a problem with the battery or something went wrong in using the phone as described already
Agreed the battery seems pretty good, both for it's size and charging time. The P800 is a pretty greedy piece of kit and the battery does well to last the time that it does (In my case 3/4 days) 8)
my p800 has poorish battery life but its my fault for the way its sey up, 2 battery save, bluetooth set to on, ir set to on, heavy call and pda usage (calls and gprs for email checking every hour, send about 4 texts a weeks thats why i dont miss t9 that much, but thats another issue -? ) atill get about 2 days out of it never charge it at work or home (only one charger so its at home docks at work) but i have fitted a bt carkit and modified a cradle so it charges in the car. For what it does, how it does it and how much time it saves me i think 2-3 days is f@@king amazing... D
I think it depends on the way you look at it!
If you see the P800 as a phone, the battery-life is off-course crap. Other phones will get one to two weeks out of one charge.
However, if you look at it as PDA, I guess the battery-life is one of the best out there! There aren't much PDA's (perhaps even none) that will last for two or three entire days!
Personally I don't mind. I charge my phone every night, so I've no problems!
Besides, I think every-one knows this when they buy a P800, so if it's really that important to them, I think they shouldn't buy a P800!
I have set my P800 as follows to get max battery (lasts for a few days easy even on heavy usage)
1. Backlit to off during sunlight, cause there is no need for backlight. And during the day I use it most.
2. Screensaver off, Background image off
3. Bluetooth to automatic only (works fine with my HBC-60)
4. Keyboard removed. The flip on and off uses power (switching)
Anyone done similar?

nah, i've not come across any other battery which lasts two weeks off one charge while having it used for phone calls and stuff, i think it's a decent battery for the phone side of the p800 too
