It could be only my P800�but here is the problem every time I want to receive files, pictures and other stuff from another phone I have to set my Bluetooth on �Discoverable� and when I want to send stuff from my phone using the Bluetooth I need to change the Bluetooth operation mode from �Discoverable� to �ON���..My t68i never had that problem all I have to do is turn on my Bluetooth and I can send and receive stuff.
Another, thing there is that your phone wont make a sound if some one is trying to send you something {unlike the Nokia phones}
I have no such problem. Once the two devices have been paired and I've set it to "Always receive", I can both send and receive via bluetooth to other devices.
And I also receive an audible alert when I receive something.
I have the same problem as JulesG when i try to send files from my P800 to my laptop, i have to set my p800 bluetooth to "ON", on "Discoverable" mode the communication will fail, meanwhile if i set the p800 to "Discoverable" mode i will be able to receive files, establish bluetooth serial port connection, access to dialup connections, etc. but won't be able to send files to my laptop.
When sending files to other phones i dont�t have such problem, it will always send wether in "Discoverable" mode or "ON" .
i wander if it isn't a problem of my bluethooth device on my laptop??
Bassey, the audio alert you speak of is on the P800?
because when i receive files, i don�t hear any alerting sound on my P800. 😞
could be on the firmware

I had the same problem, beside many others.
Sometimes when the BT is on, I've to turn it off and back on to get it working.
I was with my friend in a cafe, he searched for BT devices in range, the 7650 found 3 phones, but my stupid phone didn't find any of them :S
I'm on R2D BTW.
I'm also on R2F (bluetooth R5A).
same thing happened to me
same with me also... I have to put my Bluetooth to Discoverable mode everytime somebody will send or I will receive files.
