Opera (with O2 GPRS) not work?

2 replies · 1,962 views · Started 01 August 2003

I sent my p800 for a software upgrade and it is fine. Opera appears to be installed, with no uninstall option (it doesn't appear in the list when I click 'unintsall'.

Anyway - I just cannot get it to work. If I use a 'straight' GPRS connection it says 'activation rejected'. If I use the (O2 recommended) WAP-GPRS service then it just hangs when opening a page.

The builit-in Web browser works fine. But I see in the 'preferences' for this brower a WAP account *has* to be specified.

I am a bit confused why I cannot get Opera to work. Is it perhaps not designed to operate through a WAP gateway, and yet is it the fact that O2 does not offer a 'straight' GPRS service? (without the WAP gateway).

Can anyone offer any help at all?

Also - why can I not uninstall Opera?

Many thanks.

you might to have mobile web enabled on the sim, atm you will have MMS which gives you only gprs through their wap gateway. ring them up and ask for the provision, you will loose MMS btw but imo its well more worth it

maybe they deleted the sis installation file, if that's the case, send opera to your phone and then install it, ask it to overwrite your existing one, and then uninstall it that way
