I have almost decided that this is the phone for me but need some stuff confirmed, here we go.
1. I have lots of divx films can I watch them on this phone, what is the quality like? if I can what do I need to do?
2. Can the 3650 send and recive pictures from other makes of phone i.e siemens s55?
3. does it have a radio built in or not?
4. is the sound through the head phones in stereo? (for film/mp3)
5. please can you tell me the cons of this phone?
6. I have to ask what are the cons, what gets up your nose with this phone?
Sorry for all the questions but you know how it is when you are looking for a new toy.
Best regards
Greame 😃
If you use the Search function you will find all your questions have already been answered, and then some.
Lots of different video/movie players for the phone. However, you have to convert your divx films to some format that the phone supports.
The phone has mono sound (no stereo).
It doesn't have an FM Radio, if that's what you were asking about.
Main dislikes seem to be: toyish look & feel, lack of strereo sound, keypad layout & many would like to see more memory, some would like to have cable connectivity to PC (instead of Bluetooth or infrared).
thanks for your reply.
Is there a data cable for this phone?
Can anyone give me some detailed advice on converting movies to work on this phone.ie best software etc.
Would be grateful
Greame 😉
No data cable,Maybe there is one,but no software to make it work,Bluetooth works fine.
As for movie settings, like N/A said, search the forum.
Just to answer the thing about the compatability with other phones...you can send pics and stuff...not sure about with that seimens though sorry...and would you really want to watch all your films through the 3650? best of luck bout converting... :fadein:
Cheers for your help. with regards to the converting I tried pv author but the quality was poor and when I use helix it says audio output only.
does anyone know why?
also I saw a data cable on e-bay last night that it said was for the 3650 has anyone used one?
Like i said, the cable don't work,it si possiblem to connect the cable to the 3650,but there is no software that will make the cable actually work.
Get yourself an BlueTooth USB dongle, its cheap and it works great.
You tried PVauthor and the quality was poor? There are a lot of PV author setings that you can play with and get great quality.
do you have any settings ghostdog or can you point me in the right direction.
would be gratefull
cheers greame 😃
forgot to say I got helix working which is best helix or pv author for films?
I never tried helix because it doesn't have a trial version, just a crippled freeware.IMHO,PVauthor is very good,i don't have it installed on the box i'm replying from right now,so i'll try to give you some pointers from my memory 😊
Try playing with the bandwith setings, higher bandwith - higher quality. Also, there couple of codec options like video size and bitrate. You will get best results with testing.
what is the best video size for the 3650?
what is the best video size for the 3650?
Best video file size: As small as possible. 😉 Best video resolution size: 208x176 pixels = full-screen landscape mode (only if there was a video converter/player that could optimized for that & show it on the device).
Not sure about this but i think that pvplayer can play video in landscape.
my cons:
- no stereo playback
- MMC card location (beneath the battery)
- keypad (but you will get used to it)
- loudspeaker bug (use search, i am lazy now)
- you may have problems freeing user memory if you want to play games 3d games
pros:
- too much (and because I am lazy, you'll have to take my word for it!)
a the hell with it..
- CLEAR screen
- cover can be changed in a very simple way
- software availability
- MMC quite cheap compared too memory stick duo :x
- the screen is protected because of the cover, not like the p800 (but hey...touch screen...)
- feels really comfortable in hand!
- simple navigation
- Blue tooth can be used in quite a simple way, not like other devices where there seem to bee quite lot blue tooth problems
- audio / video recording and playback
- GAMES GALORE!
- battery life... very good!
- it's vibra function is better than a P800 (my experience)
- best GSM photo's taken are taken with a N3650 (but there seem to be 1.3 Mpix GSM cams)
- quite robust and scratch resistant! (in the few weeks i had it, i must have taken it thousands of times out of my pocket and not a single scratch on the cover!!)
- i can go on... but now I am really lazy.... (these are my experiences with it, it may differ from others)
Yep you guessed it, i got a p800 now. not because the N3650 was bad or something like that, someone was not happy with his P800 and wanted to get rid of it... thank the gods I met him on the right moment....
...hey an almost brand new P800 for LESS than half of it's price.... I took my chance...
But for what it's worth... I still miss my N3650 a little....
