I'm not sure if this has already been asked/answered and if so, i apologize in advance. However i am one of those people thinking about switching over in the distant future, but one of my MANY concerns is if transfering files and installing progs like sLauncher will work w/o any hassles. Possibly even a specific advantage a PC would have over an Apple with this phone. Overall, could some people please tell me about their experience with their 3650/7650 and a mac? thx bunches 😃
Queston about Apple->3650
It's very easy to get te Mac and Nokia 3650 to work with each other. On Macupdate they've just released a program called Veta FTP which is used to send files to and from the phone from the Mac. Or, you can just use your send to bluetooth device command under services. The only tricky part is getting the 3650 to sync properly with the iCal, which there are numerous threads that tell you how to do that. Buena Suerte!!! 😃
Ciao
I've been using my 3650 with my PowerBook G4 for the last few months and all I can say is that I am amazed at what a great combination they make! 😃
The Bluetooth work just fine 99% of the time, sending multiple files in one go doesn't seem to work though (I don't know if this is supported on the PC). I use the Belkin F8T001 USB adaptor, its got a good range, about 20 feet through walls and stuff.
iSync works with the Address Book but does not sync with iCal perfectly, though this should be fixed within the next few weeks.
Using Quicktime 6.2 with the .3gp plug-in works perfectly, I have exported all sort of Videos, including some from iMovie, to the 3650 they look great. Also QT 6.2 can play the 3650 video files in any Quicktime app.
Also being able to send Text Messages from Address Book is a real bonus, you can also dial from Address Book and Accept or Reject calls.
Apple are in full swing as far as Mac to Phone stuff goes, so I am expecting some other interesting applications or updates within the next year. Any other questions, just let me know. 😊
Thank you guys SO much...your feedbacks have been VERY helpful in my decision to switch over to a powerbook...but i couldn't help wonderin with the comment on the belkin bt~...isn't the powerbook supplied with a built-in bt? i must have misunderstood i'm sorry. But i am very glad people so far are enjoying the relationship between their 3650 and apples 😊 Feel free to leave more feedback...no harm in having more experiences 😃 thank you again :angel:
Yes the recent PowerBooks have BT built in, but mine's an old TiBook and doesn't :-?
Glad to help.
Apple and 3650 works great!
But note: if you use Virtual PC to run PC software, the bluetooth connection only works in OS 9, not OS X. Maybe it will get fixed in a newer version of Virtual PC. For now, just use OS 9 with Virtual PC.
