Help required please - p800 reset and now no SMS

4 replies · 1,521 views · Started 04 August 2003

Hi,

my phone locked up while using demo of Simple app launcher (which never launches communicam properly anyway) and i had to press and hold the power key for 10 seconds to turn it off. when i turned the phone back on everything has reset itself with the orange startup logo now returning.

I cannot set up the SMS tag under messaging accounts to put in message centre number because it does not highlight. I hope someone with experience on this forum knows what i am talking about. Should i get onto orange care and get a new one sent out asap? and if i get a new p800 from orange care will it be the latest firmware version of a p800?

rapid response appreciated.

thanks 😮ops:

Can anyone help with this problem, the sms tab is not selectable. I cannot send sms text messages.

Whenever I've had an area of the screen that isn't selectable (it happens sometimes on the currency conversion page of Worldmate) I just close the app, re-start and it's fine.

install a progamme which closes other programmes like tracker and then shut down the messages programme then try and go into it agian

I shut down the messaging task using qfile manager but still no luck. The sms tab wont highlight. orange sent me a sim update but still no luck. Orange care wont send me a replacement until they have spoken to an engineer who prob knows nothing about the p800.

I have been readign this forum for a while and there are some people on here who prob know as much as anybody about this phone. Someone must have come across this problem before and maybe know how to fix it.

I would be very grateful for any help. I need this phone to be working for a trip abroad in a few days.

Thanks
