Aside from being a nice looking camera, it has Bluetooth support- which would be great for moblogging high res photos while I'm on the road. However, it uses the BIP Bluetooth profile. Does anyone know if the P800 can deal with this?
Anyone use the Sony DSC-FX77 digital camera & P800?
I've wanted to buy this camera too because of the bluetooth function. But family budget came short and i have to wait for a couple of months more before i can try to buy this camera.
According to sony ericsson's page, the DSC-FX77 has undergone compatibility testing. That's what the sign says on the left side of the page.
I just don't like the fact that it has no optical zoom, and only uses their so called "SMART ZOOM".
Anyone who has experienced using the DSC-FX77 alongside the P800, we'll gladly appreciate your posting your experiences.

This fact alone is enough to kill the camera as a useful object,
saves me the bother of going to a website to have a look.
Would be very nice to have a decent high-quality camera support BT,
but of course, if I take an SHQ TIFF on my C50, I'd need to throw about
12MB across BT then off by email. That would get expensive!

Notwithstanding, this camera has 4 megapixels. Doesn't that count as a high quality camera?
That's why we need someone who has used the DSC-FX77 and owns a P800 too to share their experience.
What's a C50?
Olympus C50 -- proper dCam, but no BT 😞
Though as mentioned here, I could use an adapter to get the pix into the phone if I really needed to email them in a hurry.
I have the Sony DCR-IP7 Micro MV video recorder with bluetooth. Thanks to sony it only works with it's own bluetooth modem. It will not sync with any real bluetooth devices.
So be carefull, I hope they learned their lesson from this video recorder.
the site says it's compatible to T610 .. would that make it compatible with P800 too ?

Nope, the T610 has a special "profile" for that, the P800 has not... I don't think they are compatible :-?
LOL as usual Sony always makes their things to work with their own devices
but it's just nice to get it working LOL
Site talks about a "basic image profile" it might be part of file transfer.
The t610 has a nifty file browser feature, i wonder if the p800 could do it with the right software? :-?
think ill go to jessops tomorrow and see if they have one to try out
The Bluetooth Basic Imaging Profile is a Bluetooth specification. Sony supports it in their Bluetooth products. I don't know which Bluetooth phones also have support for that profile (if two devices are to communicate, the same profile must be supported on both).

The SE T610 is the only one which has this profile as well. I have a subscription to a German magazine, called "connect", and in the last issue there was a list with all BT phones, and what BT profiles they supported. The T610 was the only one that had Basic Imaging...
BTW, the P800 had the least BT profiles of all BT phones :-? :robot:
Do you know if that review is online somewhere?

Nope, I'm afraid it's not. It's only in that magazine
