After having the "Phone failed to startup. Contact Retailer" message my 7650 has been returned and upgraded to 4.46. So I have restored my contacts etc and have set about recreating my various accounts including the POP3 account I use to access my home email when out and about.

Here is the problem....I have recreated the settings to a tee with an Access Point called Internet in the Tools > Connections. This is a GPRS connection using the old username web and password of web, and I have setup the mail to use smtp.vizzavi.co.uk to send mails. ( settings from www.carphead.net/nokia7650/vodafone7650.htm ) But as always I get the General system error, I have been through the various posting on the forum about this and they all say to setup the new access point with web web but this is not working.

Has something changed with 4.46 ?

Thanks.

I've been geting General:System Error randomly, whenever i try to use GPRS or try to send MMS,i'm on v 4.46 too and unfortunately,i don't have a cure. There are quite a few strange things with 4.46 like i've been unable to play .rng files which worked with older firmware revisions.

hmm i also got something strange just upgraded 2 weeks ago

i personalised my last profile name to [G][a][m][e][S] then guess what happened

after that i cannot change any settings at all but i can activated it. Everytime i try to change something an error box comes out "profile user -9" stuff
