Well I have a Nokia 3650 - I know I know, but its similar enough to a 7650 - and there's just been loads of questions regarding muTelnet here.
Anyhow, I have muTelnet, I can connect to Port 21, Port 80, Port 119, Port 110 etc... but dang if I can connect to Port 23.
At first I thought it might be my phone service provider being paranoid and dropping packets on port 23. But hey, in my server logs, I see attempted access to port 23.
So what else could be the problem? I've tried port forwarding of 21 (that works) to port 23, but still I get no Linux login prompt.
Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers
Simon
Hi there,
It may be that the server you are connecting to has been set up using ssh (Secure Shell) instead of the usual telnet. Thought the usual ssh port was 22 though (telnet uses 23, does ftp?). Anyway, you sure the server's set up OK?
HTH,
Adrian
Hi Adrian,
Thanks for the reply.
Its my own server at home Im connecting to. I definately have Port 23 for Telnet open. dont tell anyone 😊
Anyhow, the phone will connect to my computer through infrared, then I can connect out on the internet.
But the phone itself will not connect to port 23 under any circumstances. Well, at least not using muTelnet.
I can obviously connect to the FTP Port on Port 21 using mutelnet, so I thought on the Linux box, port forward 21 to 23, but still no joy. muTelnet still doesn't like something.
I definately know the server is setup OK. I telnet into from work too.
Hrm
Cheers
Simon
