just bought a p800 on t mobile does anyone know how to unlock them cos im on vodafone got it cheep on ebay

depends where u r, vodafone can send it off the be unlocked but it takes about 2 weeks

if ur near london then go to totenham court rd and got to "Mr Mobile" or go to the computer fairs on saturday

You can unlock the P800 at home with the remote logger program. You will need the T28 Service Cable.

Its the same program used to unlock the T68i. You can purchase logs at http://www.globalmob.com.

my unlocking horror...

went along to the local market on saturday to get my brand new nokia 6210 contract phone unlocked so that I could insert my genie pay as you go sim...I went to the guy and he plugged it in...after a few minutes, he turned to me and said that the phone wasnt powering up and that he reckoned that there was a problem with my power switch.

He gave it back and told me to get one off the insurace, this was my new phone and I was 15 and pretty helpless againt this guy at the time so i pissed my pants and started hoping....I went to another guy in the same market and he managed to force feed the fimware onto the phone and then unlock it....he saved me 150quid that day...

the moral - unlocking could leave you in the shit

tmobile don't lock their phones if it's a contract phone, neither do o2 apart from the new branded o2 ones, vodafone don't unless it's vodafone live, orange's phones do though as they like to be different and try to change the built in software

this could be innaccurate, but my past experience, i've been on o2, vodafone and t mobile and non of them have ever been locked

as u said o2 dont lock there phones, orange do, voda only lock the gd55 and the gx10 and gd87, but on t-mobile they arnt locked at first then then they release phones with there stamp on it which are locked but i have never seen a p800 locked on t-mobile, the easiest way to tell when u buy it is if they have a t-mobile security label on it......its locked
