Anyone encounter carriage return symbol added to the company name field when you use pc suite to sync?

I can remove it on the phone by editing each entries!!! But when I change the info on the PC and sync, the carriage return comes back! How can I remove this unnecessary carriage return sign?

This is new...

Thank you for bringing this up.

Mine us a lire symbol and I have to manually edit each of the contacts. May I know if you are using bluetooth or infrared to sync your contacts?

Yes, I have encountered this problem working on my book on Nokia Phones Synchronization and checked it with the Contacts Manager. With contacts synchronized towards N7650/3650, after a sync, there appears the 0E 20 29 20 Unicode sequence (which represents the Unicode CR&LF equivalent, i.e. Paragraph Separator - PSEP, and the ASCII space character) by the end of Company field in Contacts.cdb. That gives linebreak+space in the Company field itself, and you can also see this - modified - (UTF-8) sequence E2 80 A9 20 on the same position in the vCard sent from N7650/3650 then (this sequence being displayed as odd characters).

No way, I mean. Software fix is necessary. Of PC Sync in PC Suite, I am afraid.

(Edit&corrected on the next day. Sorry for typos)

I'm using infrared to sync. Looks like we'll have to wait for Nokia to supply a fix for the pc sync... meanwhile, will just have to bear with it.

But why didn't this happen before? I had been using my 3650 for more than 2 months now. The only thing that happened was the software upgrade on the phone that was done a few weeks ago. I can't say for sure that was the cause though.

It happens only when a contact is cretaed or changed in the PIM and synchronized towards N7650/3650.
When a contact is created in the phone, this won't occur (even not after it is synchronized towards PIM).

It is the same with N7650. I think it doesn't depend on the firmware but it is caused by the PC Sync.

I see. Thanks!
