Firmware update in USA

same for me as well. im in cali and dont know of any firmware places

Is the only one in the USA? - I'm in New York City... 😞

There are a few service points in the US, but it seems that Sony Ericsson's customer support does not recognize that there is even such thing as a Service Point in the US. Because of this, I do not know of any in New York.

what's the latest firmware version ?...I have seen some references to R2D and R2F also...so, which one do you upgrade to ?

We only upgrade to the newest firmware versions available from Sony Ericsson. As of today:

R2B
- Phone R2F everywhere but North America
- Bluetooth R5A

R2D02 - new 8/13/03
- Phone R2D for North America
- Bluetooth R5A

Millions of threads posted on how to get this done. I'm guessing you are going to notice that you have a very buggy phone. I'm curious to know where you got it because I just bought a P800 for my buddy and it came with R2F. You probably got a phone that was sitting on the back of a shelf collecting dust.

I got upgraded to R2D about 4 months ago by the SE center in Minnesota. I think different places in the states carry different versions. This is evident in many overseas cities as well. For example, authorized service centers in Amsterdam, London were notifying customers that they could only upgrade them to a firmware that wasn't the current firmware. However, several people in that city were able to get the latest uprades from select centers. So the point is an authorized dealer that sais that they have XX firmware revision doesn't mean they have the latest. It just means that is what SE provided them with. As I stated before I know a couple places at least in my city where one can get R2F since the past 2 months.
