I'm going to be in Amsterdam next week and I wanted to know if GPRS data (HTML Web Access) is provided through pre-paid sim cards or If I'd have to hook up a contract with Ben NL or similar carrier? I got a pre-paid sim from Amsterdam last year, but only used voice when I was there. I've been using T-Mobile in the states since, but they can not find anything on their system that shows GPRS coverage in Amsterdam for when I travel. They found almost every country except The Netherlands which sounds weird. I know Ben NL was supposed to change over to T-MO when I was there, but I'm not sure if the transition happened yet.
By the way, they said I would be charged $15USD per 1000kb(1meg) if I were to browse the web while roaming in Europe. Which is why I would rather use a pre-paid sim card from the country I intend to be in. If all else fails I can always get my GF to open an account for me. If anyone else knows GPRS info on pre-paid services in other cities like London, Paris, Rome, Brussels, I would appreciate that info as well. As I will be traveling to those destinations also. Doei...

Is BEN NL now T-mobile? From what I stated before I was told that T-Mo was going to buy out Ben NL. There was no T-Mo in Amsterdam earlier this year from what I can remember. I still have my Ben NL pre-paid sim and I wonder if old Ben NL customers are using T-Mo's cellular towers.

Yep, Ben was renamed (thank god, Ben is the most stupid name I've ever heard) to T-mobile a few months ago.
Guess you should be able to find more info on the dutch t-mobile site about having GPRS on prepay. I have a feeling there isn't any provider in the Netherlands that has this, but I might be wrong.

Yes, you guys are right. Only Ben/T-mobile offers GPRS with pre-pay! And Bigfeat, have a good time in Holland 😃
