I have a new Nokia 3650 which I like so far.
I hated my previous phone (a Motorola T190) and didn't mourn too much when it was stolen. It was so tiny I was constantly afraid I would lose it. And it dind't have much in the way of programming.
It did, however, have one thing I particularly liked. When you opened a menu each item on the menu was numbered... so you didn't have to scroll to get to the item you wanted... you could just press one button once and open the application.
Is there anything I can do to my Nokia 3650 so that I can access things that way? For example, if I have the main menu open - press 1 for telephone, 2 for contacts, 3 for calender, 4 for messaging, 5 for camera, etc ... instead of having to scroll.
Next question:
In the images section of my phone it will let me create new folders but it won't let me move pictures into these folders. When I click on "move to folder" for a picture it only gives me the options of "phone memory" and "memory 1" (my memory card). Are there any ideas on how I can fix this?
Third question:
In the "Contacts" application you can add extra details to a contact such as more than one email address, or the address, or even their birthdate. Is there something I can do so that i can have a custom details?
It will let me edit labels on detaisl ... which is great, but there are some details that aren't automatically options which I am using again and again and again and it is annoying to have to edit labels each time I want to make that a detail in the contact file.
Final question:
Can I get Chinese for my phone?
Thanks,
-M
Why would you want to get a Chinese for your phone? Those noodles and soy sauce will make a terrible mess of your screen! (",)
You can access the applications by pressing 1-9 numbers.
At least on my phone it gives me a list of directories after i select phone memory or memory card.

The first nine menu items on display from the main menu do respond to keys 1-9, although I don't recall seeing this in the manual. I discovered it by accident. 😊

Select one of those options, and then it should prompt you for a particular folder in either location. (My phone does.)

I'm not aware of a way to have custom details as labels by default.

Sounds like something that would require a firmware modification to me. I think the phones are sold regionally, and if you don't have Chinese as an option now, I don't think you'll find it easy to add.

Because, although I bought my phone in the US, I live in China.

blink blink blink ... why so it does! cool.
Now, any ideas about doing such a thing in a menu like
1 Open
2 Call
3 Create message
4 New Contact
5 Edit
6 Delete
sorta thing ... it definitely doesn't do it there.

darn darn and double darn. The options that you get for "address" are really poorly implemented and I have been editing them in the same way every single time I put an address in ... and, it would be very useful to have less steps to go through when putting in multiple phone numbers for someone which are Beijing, Shanghai, New York instead of Home, Work.

you can set up the joystick as a short cut for 5 different applications.
all you need to do is press and hold the manu botton, once a screen pops up, press the "select" botton(which is the upper left botton), it will bring up another manu, choose "setting" then "phone stand-by"(or something like that, because my phone is in Chinese, don't know what the exact in English), it will let you change the short cuts for the joystick, the default is: down for IRDA, center for phone book.
if you want to change your phone's language to Chinese, you need a phone flash. My phone's version is 2.16, which is a Chinese version.

You can simply change the detail's title.

when I do that, it just selects the "phone" task... and I can't even activate IRDA with the down button...

Which is what I am doing right now. It would be fine fior once or twice or even ten times ... but not every single time I put in a new entry!

Dealt with this yet? You probably selected the Memory card section by pressing the 'Move' button. Don't do this but instead press the trigger button after you highlight your memory card. After you've settled to where you want to move your picture then press the 'Move' button.
