Backup Application?

What is the best application to use to back up my phone entirely? I wish to send in my 7650 for an upgrade of firmware to the latest version 5.xx here in singapore but i do not wish to lose everything i have in the phone.

List of things I wish to preserve

Images
SMS messages
Picture messages
Contact Lists

Nokia Data Suite only backs up the Images, and the SMS messages but not the other 2. Somehow, I can't get Microsoft Outlook to work on my pc for use with my 7650 Contact List.

Any ideas?

PC Suite should back up all kinds of messages, settings, contacts & installed applications (it does for me, at least).

Make sure you have the latest version: http://www.nokia.com/cda1/0,1080,2015,00.html

Also, in the PC Suite installation directory, there's a text file named BackupExclusionList.dat which you can edit in order to have some directories (or folders, if you prefer) also backed up that aren't by default.

And if PC Suite backup works, then the Outlook sync should also work, if everything is all right with your Outlook installation (or you can try to delete and recreate the synchronization tasks in PC Suite).

How do I open up the BackupExclusionList.dat? What programme should I use?
Just drag and drop the file to notepad 😉

Edit it and save
This is what is stated in the file now...

D:\
C:\system\temp\
C:\system\midp\
C:\system\sounds\digital\
C:\system\sounds\simple\
C:\system\apps\phone\oplogo\
C:\system\shareddata\reserve.bin
C:\system\data\voucherdb
C:\system\data\backupvdb
E:\system\midp

What should I change it to to make sure the following stays intact?

Contacts
Messages(Sms, Mms, Inbox, Outbox, Sent, etc)
Images Folders
GPRS Settings
Downloaded Ringing Tones

Many thanks.
