Its a wish come true for many 7650/3650 owners!!Full Screen Caller allows you to see a big picture of people and skins when you are receiving a phone call from the people you have stored in your contacts database!

I downloaded and tried the two versions (1.0 and 1.01-that was realized today I guess-) of the application. I agree with GhostDog that it is a dream come true for us s60 owners.
There are, however several 'bugs' that I wish be 'fixed' in the next versions.
- when you are called by an 'unknown number', the number of the person who called you most recently appears in the 'number' field, with 'Not Found' on the 'name' field. Moreover, this is indistinguishable from the case that the person with the most recent number is calling you, and the number is not in the contacts database.
- when the screensaver is running, the fullscreen caller cannot come to the foreground; you just see the screensaver on the screen and the options 'Answer' and 'Silence' for the hotkeys.
- in the English version, the German words 'nicht gefunden' are displayed instead of 'not found'
- both with the 'backlight on' and with the 'backlight off' options, the light only flashes when you receive a call. It is not permanently on.
- the application seems to eat up much memory. I have a 7650, and I sometimes get the message 'memory full, close some applications' when someone calls, and fullscreen caller tries to come to the foregorund.
- in the About seciton of version 1.0, it states that it is version 1.2.
I think this is a really great app, much better than the little picture you normaly see. But there's only one problem i've got.

I don't know if this is related with Full Screen Caller but it happened to me after i installed it.
Its very strange.The ringtones don't seem affected by the volume settings.They allways play with the max volume.When the volume is set to min sometimes they do play,again using the max volume seting and sometimes they just start to play an freeze/choke after a second.
I uninstalled FullScreen Caller but the problem remained.Anyone else with the same problem?
I'm using a Nokia 7650 firmware version v 04.46
I tested the ringtone issue and it didnt gave me any problems. It played the volume that i selected.
I am using a Nokia 3650 firmware version v 2.50
BTW: i'm using a 128MB MMC, so maybe thats why i dont have problems with memory being low.
I am also getting that memory full error. I have a Nokia 3650, firmware 2.50. I have some 2Megs left on my MMC card. Any idea what's up?

drazvan,memory full means that the device is low on RAM,not storage(c:\ or memory card).If you want to free up some RAM,try closing apps that are running in the background or restart the phone.
There was pretty much nothing in memory at the time... only the "Phone" and "Contacts" applications... and the error came after the second or third call ... it didn't crash when I started it ... must have a leak or something... I don't know, I'm just reporting it as it is 😊

Hey people, one more thing... it's still a bit unclear to me, how do we add a big picture? I've checked my contacts database over and over and the only field I see is Thumbnail. Do I just add a thumbnail and it enlarges it or does it just know the picture that the thumbnail came from? This is very poorly documented....

Does anyone really get a good quality full screen image? I have tried Full Screen Caller but it does not give me actually full size picture on my Nokia 3650 (firmware 3.13). The picture is only slightly bigger (about 2.5 times) than the default thumbnail that is shown using the original software of Nokia 3650. This slightly bigger picture than thumnail comes in the centre of the skin. The quality and resolution of this picture is quite poor even though the original picture linked to the contact is extremely clear. What could be wrong?
That is because the its the same small thumbnail image,only resized.If you want a better quality image you can assign one in the image tab of your contact.
One thing this program needs is a test mode so you can see what the screen will look like without keep calling yourself up!

In the contacts, I only get an option of adding thmbnail in the editing mode. How does one link a full fledged image, as suggested by you? If I use the image tab that one gets after opening a particular contact, I do see an image tab. I can also add a picture in this tab, and the picture that appears with Full Screen Caller is much better (though not as good as the original image). But then there is a time lag of about 4 to 5 seconds before the picture appears and the ring tone starts playing. What do I do elimante this time lag?? Does this image (added to the contact) get stored in the phone memory? Or is it read from MMC directly?

The image in the image tab is just a link to the original image stored in Phone Memory or MMC,so if you store your images on MMC it will be read directly from MMC.I'm not the author of the app so i don't know how to remove the lag,mail the authors for support.
