IR between p800 and 6610

I have the p800 and my girlfriend has the nokia 6610, both have infra red but she doesn't have bluetooth.
Now if I want to sent a photo to her phone by IR then my p800 say's it can't make a connection. I've tried different photoresolutions but they all give the same error. I can however sent a photo to the nokia 7650.

So I was wondering why I can't sent something to her by IR.

Solution anyone? (stupid vodafone here doesnt support mms on her 6610)

You cannot send anything to Nokia phones except Business cards, but you can with Nokia smartphones 7650,3650 and 9210(i) only.

You can get her an IR Adaptor, and a program called MobiMB then you can download pictures and tones to the phone.

6610 is a series 40 right?
Nokia dont allow you to send pictures, ringtones etc over IR with series 40, i know cos my girlfriend got a 7250. She sold that and got a T610 now.
The only way to send pictures is over MMS which you said you cant do. The best solution is to get an SE rather than a nokia.
The 7650 is a lot better for connectivity, is guess cos its a symbian handset.
