DVDx is free, but to get to the download page you have to buy a 3 month VIP subscription to the site for $12. Still pretty cheap for some nice software...

Stezos, have you used DVDx to rip from a DVD and then converted the file for a P800? What conversion software did you use?

I havent got the latest version I use 2.1 which i downloaded from another site ages ago so didnt have to buy a VIP subscription, if you search around on the net im sure you will find other places to get it from, but for me im happy using 2.1

Yes I have ripped using DVDx and created mp4 files to play on my P800. Using DVDx I create an mpg file (I personally find it better than AVI for converting to mp4) then once the mpg is created I use PVAuthor to create the mp4 file. Ive also tried Mpegable but find sometimes the lip sync can be terrible so prefare PVAuthor.

What do you mean by that?
This topic is regarding getting a movie or tv programme off a DVD and onto the P800.... :turn-l:
