closed flip application

I need my p800 to be auto-locked after a few minutes, but when the device locks, the screensaver starts, and any info disappear: clock, battery, network coverage...:is it possible to lock the phone without making those info disappear? At least clock?

Is it possible to make an application run while the flip is closed? A full screen clock would be very useful.

Afraid not.

It's possible, but not easy to develop because there is no real documentation when it comes to running an application in flip closed mode. You could always ask the developer of OggPlay to make it, as he is one of the few developers to have his application running in FC mode.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. 😊

Surely just disabling the screen-save (in flip open, click on the battery icon and choose settings) will stop this?

This is exactly my problem: how can I lock the phone without making the screensaver start? It looks like locking and screensaving are two not separable functions.

Yeah, that's weird. Never noticed before. I've always had all the screen-saver and power-save options disabled and yet my phone auto-locks after a minute or two. I just take it for granted that it does. Never realised that it shouldn't.

My old Ericsson R380 worked the same way.

Thinking about it, maybe it's Handy Day that does it. That's the only non-standard app that I have running all the time. Maybe, if you have that running in the background, even with the flip closed, and have it's auto-lock feature enabled, then it will lock the phone for you.

Don't really fancy un-installing Handy Day in order to test the hypothesis. Anyone else?

Phone - Edit - Preferences - Locks - Automatic key lock <--check this box.

Also, when you manually lock the phone in FC mode - open the flip and close it again, the phone will automatically be locked. And it won't unlock untill you manually unlock it in FC mode.

And of course, the screen saver needs to be turned OFF.

-Hope this makes sense..
