I was wondering if we could actually format our p800s and then re-install the symbian OS if it;s possible please tell me where to get symbian os and how to actually do it step by step

when you format the phone, it does that anyway
You can master reset (format or hard reset) the phone. But if you refer that formate the OS in the Z: Drive is impossible. Becoz it's a ROM drive, only the S.E tech in the service centre could do that by upgrade your OS version aka flashing the ROM.
