I am planning to switch this forum over to vBulletin at the same time as we launch the much awaited (and over hyped) AAS redesign. It's not too late to sya the idea is really bad.
If/wehn we change these are the benefits.
- better wap version (users pref, search etc. basically a lot more feature rich)
- better organised forums - sub forums for exmaple
- vBulletin has some nice extras for users
for the admins it means a lighter load on the server and easy maintenance.
The bad thing is that when we do change we lose avatars and existing attachments. We keep all posts, usernames etc.

I think you already know my feelings on it, I'm all for sub forums and easy maintenance...oh and my Samsung forum 😃
Anything that would make the forums load faster on dial-up connections would be very much appreciated. The only thing that inhibit fun around here is the slow loading of forum threads on dial-up connections.

If the forum performs better on my 33600 dial up,i'm for it although we'll have problems with the lost attachments,espcially in the S60 multimedia forum,remember last time AAS was on a trip? 😮ops:
I should have said this forum and the attachements will be available, but read only obvisouly.

I know we lose attachments but will we also lose the gallerey or can that be copied across?
I'm working on the Gallery. It might not be so tightly integrated but it will still be there (somewhere in the site), or at very least its content will.

It'd be good to have the 'latest post first' option on WAP within a topic also, because sometimes it could be quite time- and byte-consuming. When do you plan it to be launched?

I think those features are in the WAP version.
