7 replies · 2,360 views · Started 10 September 2003

Has anybody experienced this?
2 days ago the buttons next to the LCD went dead not all of them just the 1st row and the 3rd. And now on the phone side (Yes, No and scroll down button)
Pleaze help.
Thanx.

Hey, Nokia! my 9210 is getting old, Let the new communicator out already. I'm tired of waiting.

I have a similar thing some times. I found that pushing the space between the keys, just below the 2 & 3 makes it work again.

Hope this helps your problem too

Nope! doesn't work for me, I tried to open the front cover and cleaned the keypad, still don't work.
And it's even worse now, the power button doesn't work either, so I can't turn the phone on, the LCD won't lit up sometimes.

Man! this is bad, I'm thinking to replace it to 9210i and I would have to backup the data and restore them to new 9210i, but the problem is the buttons next to the LCD don't work either (all 4 of them).

It could be the flatcable that connects the keypads to the KL8 module (main board of the 9210) that is busted (you can see the flatcable if you open the 9210 and see between the hinges a small gold coloured cable) 😮

If it is due to water damage then your KL8 module could be malfunctioning, which means $$$$ to replace if they even want to replace it at all. (ie: new 9210i)

Took 9210 to Nokia, and they said it was the Flexi Cable.
Should be done by tommorow.
Damn, that thing is expensive, I could by a new phone for that.
Anyways, Thanx guys for the inputs, and hope it'll work like a charm.

:P
