when i used to use my 16 meg duo in for a back up, i had to follwo the prompt to turn off my phone for backup, then manually had to restart it myself, now i'm using a 128 meg duo, it's restarting automatically and then starting the backup automatically after restarting itself, this happened a few times with the 16 meg but is constantly doing it automatically with the 128, does anyone know the cause of this?

I only remember being prompted to manually restart the phone once, and that was the first time I did it when I I got the phone.
Since then it has always done it itself (except when it has crashed, in which case you have to fiddle with the phone anyway), even when I was restoring up data from the 16MB card to the 128MB one.
I noticed recently that the phone-widget in the PC's System Tray wasn't coming on, but the connector widget and the cradle lights were on.
Simply tapping the top of the phone made everything work -- I wonder if there is an ever-so slightly dodgy connector there, that normally works, but can occaisionally drop out.
I'm on R2D and always have to manually restart the phone during backups.
Mine has always been automatic, never done a manual reset. 😮
