Tracker 2.0

I have to launch Tracker manually when I power up my phone. Not a great problem (although alot of users seem to be able to get it to launch on startup).

My problem is that if I lock the phone through Tracker then receive and end a call I cannot unlock the Tracker lock screen, I am only able to view the standard base bar menu options and the only option that can get me out of this state is bringing up virtual flip. When I drop virtual flip it unlocks the phone but takes me to applications view rather than Tracker. This also happens when the phone is unlocked and virtual flip is put up then down - it goes to the application view.

Anyone have any ideas how I can get Tracker to popup when virtual flip is dropped?

NB - I have assigned Tracker to pop up when I press my camera button, however when virtual flip is up and camera button is pressed it brings up my camera!!!! This is not the case when using button in any over view.

When you have the virtual flip up, you are in flip closed mode and you cannot access tracker from flip closed mode.

As to why you don't get back to Tracker when yop exit flip closed mode, I have no idea. You should normally return to Tracker presuming you have that setting enabled in Tracker.

Btw, I'm currently testing Tracker 3.0, and can tell you guys you are in for a real treat here! 😊 Tracker 3.0 is very different from 2.0, and works more like a real desktop with skins and everything. It's really awesome. Coming soon...

Raven, could you post some preview pictures of Tracker 3.0 interface? 😉

Thanks Raven. I think I can put up with these problems for now but hopefully Tracker 3.0 will sort em out.[/quote]

Very...umm....Microsofty, why to companies assume that a Start button would be useful?..I mean I'm not saying it isn't but why do people automaticly assume instead of making their own "unique" UI?

Or am I jumping the gun a little?

I agree, but at least the 'Start' button is on the top... Fortunately the 'start', 'close' and 'hide' buttons are the only real association I get to Window$...

Before the P800 I had a Palm VX and on it I had a program that has a lot in common with Tracker 3 (customizable desktop, start menu).

It was very practical. On my desktop I put my most used programs on the desktop and accessed the rest thru the start menu.
All the settings were there too.
I hate to have to switch screens or programs to be able to start a program.
For this to work comfortably the main screen with the start menu should appear when I close a program, when I start the P800 and when I push the assigned button. This takes some tinkering in the OS for them.
I had several alternatives for my palm but this one I used because it was fastest, most practical and most intuitive.

The start menu was one of my wishes I mailed them when I used Tracker 1. It seems they listened.

Groink!
