speccy better than the c64 ?!?!?!??!?!?

come now........you've been sitting out in the sun too long!

Somebody edited my post!!!!! Damn you!!

I said that the 'Speccy' (as some poor souls are affectionally calling it), had almost as many games as the legendary Commodore 64.

The spectrum was so rubbish it was amazing... the graphics were crap, the sound was awful but the games were just so playable.

Just tried registering it and SWREG their site is taking 80 years to respond... not good 😮(

I bet Ewan did this. He has a problem with retro gaming.

Won't help with that Mame arcade machine he's got 😮

>>>speccy better than the c64 ?!?!?!??!?!?<<<

Yes indeed. Me and my siblings had both.

As far as we were concerned, the Spectrum was superior to the C64 in a machine to machine comparison, except for the keyboard and the latter having more software.

Me, point out the error a poor deluded C64 owner has made in appreciating the golden age of computing? Yeah, sounds about right!

So jyrik. C64 was slow, had poor graphics, little original gaming content, much smaller pool of games and was a clunky system all round. Long live the Speccy!

Blim!!!

Agreed!!!

And the Speccy gave rise to Psion,
which in turn gave rise to Symbian,
which in turn gave rise to AllAboutSymbian,
which in turn gave rise to This Discussion,
which in turn gave rise to This Posting.

cheers

CROSS PLAFORM WAR!!!!!!!!

The C64 was awesome! Not only did it have hardware sprites that never interfered with the background (ahem!) but SID was an outstanding little sound chip (who's registers, if I remember right, started at Decimal address 54272 - or was it 12288? I can't remember)! So good was SID that even now on my beloved 9210, I have a SID Player installed!

How cool is that!?

Of course no justification as to why the C64 was (allegedly) a better machine...

[asbestos trousers on, incoming flame war suspected]
