Firmware 4.46, GPRS problem

I just upgraded from 3.12 to 4.46, and now I have this weird GPRS problem.

Everytime I use GPRS I must reboot the phone, otherwise it doesnt connect at all.

Does anyone have the same problem?

I'm having exactly the same (or a similar) problem here.i don't have GPRS set to always on so sometimes when i connect i can't open any web pages or check my e-mail.Reboot does help, sometimes.

Firmware version v 4.46.

-jb- , v 3.12 is the worst option,in short if you fill up your phone memory with images, games or whatever it probably crash and not boot up untill new firmware is flashed. That bugs has been fixed in never firmware released,my favourite so far is v 4.39 😉

actually when i was using V 3.12 and set GPRS always on sometimes the G symbol is crossed out for the rest of the time until i rebooted the phone but sometimes it fixed when i set to connect when needed and change it back to always on but otherwise reboot is needed

Now i'm using V 4.46 and this problem still occuring for whatever reason

yes, I know there was a memory bug in 3.12.
The reason I upgraded from 3.12 was that GPRS sometimes didnt connect, and now with 4.46 it never connect, unless I reboot first.

Is there a newer firmware version that fix this?

I know there is newer firmware versions.
I want to know if they really fix the problem with GPRS.

I haven't had such problems with it or any earlier firmware revision either.

Also, as v5.06 was ready in June (at least it is dated June), why did you in September have the phone upgraded to v4.46?
Uhm, ask the NSC not me.
Don't need to. My phone has v5.06 & works. 😉

Can anyone tell me how you work out the firmware version the old WARRANTY trick doesnt seem to work. Interesting Jsut got a brand new 7650 and I can use speed dial because of an Major error apparently...

Try this

*#0000# -- To display your Firmware version
*#06# -- To displpay your IMEI (mostly required to buy Softwares)

Enter this at the standby screen or the normal screen where there is your background, signal and battery meter displayed

You meant you CAN'T use the speed dial isn't it ?? so u have configured it ?? what error does it says..

since it is new and maybe if u hav backed up the data.. try to format the phone with *#7370# (plug your phone to charger to prevent run out of battery while formatting)

but i don't suggest this method first, so just list this method as your last method 😛

Yes interestinly I have backed up the data, and one orginal speed dial works but when trying to access it or other numbers I get a system error.

I take formatting will clean the whole phone? will I need to do another backup before hand?

Well if u really want to format the phone

make sure your back up is the latest one, or maybe do a back up before format.. cos it's hurts when u lost around 100++ contacts and no backup LOL

Yes if u format, the phone will return to the original State where comes out of factory

Things to remember
- If u have Internet Connection Setting jot it down
- Make sure you've the latest backup
- Uf u have Precious picture moment in your phone memory, upload it to the computer LOL
- etc 😃

Hav u tried to turn off and turn on the phone ?? is it still doing the same error ??

cos as i said before this Format method should be the last method 🙄

but it's up to you, it's wellworth to try figured out few things 😃 😃

thing is that I jsut got the Phone from the factory so formatting I dont think will do the trick because surely when I restore the back up it will be doing the same thing.

I have switched on and off several and times and is doing the same thing....mmmmmm i think I might leave it, speed dial is not that important to risque wasting time and possibly all my important data just had my IBM hard drive do that to me cant hack it with my phone aswell.....
