Does anyone know how to sync the 7650 with windows XP. Is there any third party software that can do it?

Nokia have said it will be a few months before they realease and XP compatible version of PC suite

??? I'm normally using Windows XP Professional with PC Suite...
Maybe I haven't understood the question... :-?

I have tried to install PC suite for the 7650 several times and it will not run correctly. I refuses to open. I have tried it on two machines. One with XP pro and the other XP home. Pc Suite for the 9210 runs ok but wont sync the 7650.

The software you are using. Did it come with the 7650 or did you download it from somewhere.

I only got the phone last week so mabye I am missing something.

Any help would be great.

At first, the 7650 was delivered without the installation CD. If you purchase it now, you will most likely get the CD. It was delayed from the first shipments.

You can download PC Suite for the 7650 at http://www.nokia.com/phones/productsupport/7650/downloads.html . There are also all the other things that are on that CD.

I'm using PC Suite for 7650 with the 3Com Bluetooth USB adapter in WinXP Pr too, and it's working just fine.

I'm using the downloaded version too. It works fine, using both irda and bluetooth connection. Try download it from Nokia and let us know! ;o)

I have been able to get the software to operate perfectly on my desktop but for some reason it still refuses to run on the laptop. Although at least it works. Thanks for all the help.

If anyone has any ideas whay it wont work on a Sony Laptop (FX series) running XP home I would love to know.

Thanks again.

I have 3Com USB Bluetooth and bluetooth too.

Did u install 3Com software? (Connection manager)

PC Suite, could detect any connection device, esp the 3Com BT

I have translated somewhat decent instructions for the 3Com USB-BT adapter + Nokia PC Suite + Nokia 7650 - these apply to Windows XP and other Windows versions too:

There are a few typos and spelling errors since I did it in a hurry, but that should get you going with the 3Com USB-BT adapter and PC Suite.

I got my 7650 yesterday 😊

It's really a great phone but I'm having
lots of problems with Nokia PC Suite 1.0.0.

I tried to install the version on Nokia site
and it works... for the first time only!!! 😞

The next time I reboot Windows XP and login,
I start getting lots of error panels saying
things like:

---------------
Faulting application ectaskscheduler.exe,
version 1.0.0.67, faulting module rtsock.dll,
version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x00001123.
---------------

---------------
Faulting application broadc~1.exe, version
1.0.0.67, faulting module rtsock.dll, version
1.0.0.1, fault address 0x00001123.
---------------

---------------
Faulting application econnect.exe, version
1.0.0.67, faulting module rtsock.dll, version
1.0.0.1, fault address 0x00001123.
---------------

The mRouter icon also gets frozen on the taskbar
(and it wasn't, on the first run...).

I've done more than 20 reboots trying different
things (each time I install PC Suite I need to do 2
reboots to start getting the error).

At least.... to reduce my frustration, the modem
connection worked immediately using Bluetooth
and HSCD (high speed GSM connection).

My portable is a Toshiba Portege 4000 running
Windows XP Pro.

Thanks for any help,

I have exactly the same problem. One machine it works the other it doesn't after a reboot. Those errors are meant to mean that you don't have TCP-IP installed (check the readme) but of course I do as I am writing this over an internet connection it is only the bluetooth connection which is problematic.

Anyone solve this?
