I can't be the only person in the world with a P800 that has this problem!
During phone calls i keep catching the buttons on the Flip, meaning the person on the other end randomly gets tone noises down their ear. This has always happened and it's driving me crazy - is there no application out there that can automatically lock the keypad during a call?
I've not got big or funny shaped ears, it's just the way a phone should rest next to your ear when on a call.
I'm going slowly insane - it's such a stupid flaw in what is otherwise the best phone ever!
Any ideas anyone?
weird .. the buttons are hard to press .. do u end up with red key marks on ur face ?
I wouldn't say they are that hard to press, i don't end up with marks no. It's mainly the top row, 1 2 3.
Use a Bluetooth headset or use it without the flip...
I suggest u remove the flip, the phone even looks cooler, but take a good care of it so u won't break the glass 😃
I share your pain with this problem, I've been experiencing it for the past 6 months. However, I don't think you are actually pressing any buttons, but the phone has a problem with screen sensitivity while the flip is closed. If I run my finger over the screen repeatedly while in flip closed mode, keys will be pressed without touching the key pad. So if my face touches the screen while talking, tones keep on being sent. I sent my phone in to SE and told them of the problem and all they did was upgrade my firmware, but the problem still continues. I have noticed though if you use the virtual key pad and remove the flip, the problem stops. If you have any luck with fixing this problem please let me know.
try calibrating the screen .. go to Control Panel > Display .. click on the Calibrate button down .. either go through the 3 points or press the jog dial inwards to restore calibration to factory settings ..
I've got the same thing.. And with the keypad open I even 'hang up' by mistake a couple of times because my cheek is touching the 'hang up' button...
Really annoying :-?
In flip-less mode, I suffer from randomly editing address book entries as I talk. You may have noticed, there is no "undo" and there is no "cancel", so if you accidentally garbage a phone number, there is no way to get it back or abandon the edit. 😞
