Hi happy Shiny People,

1. I would like to use the P800 with my MAC; 800mhz G3 powerbook.

2. Don't want to spend weeks on fidling and don't want to download *^(^loads of
drivers/software, to maake this combi work.

SHOULD I BUY THE P800 Tomorrow?

thanks for your advice!

My P800 is working very well with the 7B68 beta release of Panther (the next Max OS X version 10.3) on my PB G417" (which has Bluetooth inside).
Does your PowerBook G3 has an USB port ? If yes, wait for Panther and buy an USB Bluetooth key. If no, forget P800 as it can connect only via Bluetooth.

You will need iSync 1.1 and bluetooth 1.2.1. That will allow you to sync with your address book and upload and download files. You will also need a bluetooth adaptor for the Mac - the USB adaptor won't work on the Mac.

It seems that iSync 1.2 and iCal 1.5 are being released in the next day or so along with Mac OS 10.2.8 though they seem to be separate from that download. That should allow you to sync with your calendar and fix some of the bugs with address book sync.

I have had my P800 for a couple of months syncing with a Cube at work and a 17" imac at home. I highly recommend it!

afaik - only the address book currently syncs between the mac and P800

the next version of iSync is supposed to support more, at least the calendar

Ammo.
