IndTeleSoft today announced the availability of its Buzz2Talk Client for Push-to-talk applications. Buzz2Talk is an easy to use Mobile Communications Client for 1-to-1 or 1-to-many communication.

It seems likely that this is the sort of service that will be bought by operators and advertised as a value added service. IndTeleSoft with this service will be competing with the established fastchat.

Press Release:

IndTeleSoft, a leading provider of mobility communications solutions, today announced the availability of its Buzz2Talk Client for Push-to-talk applications. Buzz2Talk is an easy to use Mobile Communications Client for 1-to-1 or 1-to-many communication.

Built over IndTeleSoft's Mobile SIP Suite, Buzz2Talk provides users with walkie-talkie like instant voice communication on a 2.5G (GPRS-enabled) or 3G device*. Buzz2Talk integrates Presence and Availability with IM and Voice over IP to provide users with an exciting communication option on existing 2.5G networks with an evolution path for full duplex and feature rich voice solutions on 3G networks. Based on SIP and RTP technology and built as an overlay application over IP, Buzz2Talk is based on IETF standards like SIP, SIMPLE, and RTP.

IndTeleSoft's Buzz2Talk client is available today on the Symbian platform and can be demonstrated on GPRS networks around the world. A standards' based solution, it interoperates with third party proxy servers such as SIP Express Router (SER), PartySIP, and Free World Dialup. Setup involves simply configuring user details in the proxy/application server and server details on the client. The Buzz2Talk client provides an attractive and intuitive user interface that integrates voice with presence and instant messaging functionality allowing users to view other users' availability and begin instant communication at any time.

Announcing the release of Buzz2Talk, Anupama Hegde, Director - Wireless Device Solutions, said, "IndTeleSoft's Buzz2Talk Client is targeted at Network Equipment vendors, to enable them to rapidly integrate and deploy a standards based solution that can provide walkie-talkie type communication on 2.5G networks and evolve to a full featured Voice client supporting full duplex voice and enhanced telephony features for 3G networks." Jawad Ayaz, CEO IndTeleSoft added "As a client only solution Buzz2Talk does not conflict with the business objectives of existing application server vendors and provides significant up sell opportunity to those looking to deploy enhanced voice solutions".

* Currently supported on Nokia 7650/3650 mobile phones
