I am realy mad now!
Is September and not even one notice when will this phone come out!
We do not even know if it will have bluetooth!

I still have no word back from Samsung as to a due date, I guess all we can so is wait.

I don't see BT as such a big issue as I have never used it with 7650/3650/P800 so I guess it's not something I would miss.

Just hope it is released soon 😊

yayyyy at last samsung has their own space....
anyway...
i think (and hope) samsung will release it at the beginning of 4th quarter 2003....

I hope that is the case, but I somehow doubt it as the usual practice is to issue a pree announcement with a release date sometime before the release, Q4 is very very close and still no word!

Samsung seems very bad @ promoting their new products comparing with Siemens. Siemens keep postpone their SX1 from July now until 2nd Q of 2004, but they still create a big wave in smartphone community. But D700, we only have 5 posts including mine about D700, how sad.

the new forum about D700 was open only now when the forum s were updated!

Yes, the forum has been open for 1 day....beleive me there is demand for this phone.

I think the reason some people get put of Symbian phones is the size.

The D700 is just about the same size as any other Samsung "Flip Phone" but manages to pack the MMC slot and some funky technology in there too.

A winner for sure, just hope they get it to the market soon.

I agree with you about Samsung not making a fuss though....At this point in time they are releasing 3 Smartphones, a MS, Palm and Symbian device but they are all getting the same sort of press coverage.

Nearly none.

I agree, there's very little information about this product available. I'm not really interested in this thing, but I am interested in another Samsung product - the SGH i500, where the situation is the same - not much available information... 😞

a d700 forum? sweet.
I think that the d700 won'tbe out for a few months, simply because they will be touting the P300 i think it's called (think d700 without symbian) so it might take a month or two for them to "adequatly" market that before introducing a smartphone.

Where did you get this info? Surely they would not delay another 9 months? By that time Nokia should have announced a phone a lot better... and the technology in the SX1 would be over a year old - which is ancient in this market.

This is an email from one the International customer support of SX1 that was replied to my email:

Hello Mr. Ta,

Currently this phone is set to be released in the first or second quarter of 2004. At this time there is no specific release date and the actual release of the phone could be later than projected.

can't u see that nokia is going to release a phone called 7600...

Incorrect info on a couple of web sites doesn't make it a fact, I'm afraid, Deluxe700.

You're welcome back to say you were wrong, when Samsung actually starts shipping the device. 😉

They may very well have sold any number prototypes, for all I care (and if so, they probably were not units Samsung intended to be sold in the first place).

However, that still doesn't mean that the devices they sold actually had Bluetooth even if the site's specs claim so.

Until someone with some credibility comes forward, shows at least a photo of their prototype device with the Blutooth menu/program visible, I reserve the right to remain sceptical until the device actually starts shipping.

P.S. You're still welcome back to admit that you were wrong, when, I mean if 😉 that happens (or I will come back and admit that I was). 😊 😊 😊

personally i would like some other sites to confirm this before i go believing it. if it is true, then i'll defect to a 6600 i think..... i am just that impatient.
