Is it worth it - any new features?

Definately seems to be worth it. New features to note are:

* Press Blue Button for full screen mode
* Tap and hold on a picture to open a save menu

There are others, follow the link to the press release, and then the link to the feature list.

Andy

it's super smooth now when scrolling from left to right using the scroller at the top now, before parts of the screen would move but other parts woulnd't

The Flash plug-in is available on the A920's Opera browser, anyone know when the same will be available for the P800?

Did you unload the old version before installing the new?

I uninstalled 6.1 before installing 6.2.

Stupid question 😊

When I go to uninstall applications Opera is not listed!

It is on my memory stick so how do I uninstall existing version to allow me to install 6.2 ?

There is no need to uninstall the old version first, it will ask you if the new version is allowed to overwrite the old one...

No, there is absolutely no need, besides if you don't uninstal the old version all your bookmarks and preferences stay.

even after uniinstalling opera, your bookmarks and things stay their because it's stored on the phones memory in the bookmarks folder which is left alone on removal, that might not make sense but that's only because i'm also swining on my chair while typing this

Opera 6.02 doe not work with a bluetooth connection (6.01) does or has anybody got it too work??

Thanks guys and gals I loaded it anyway and as you say it lets you know you're overwriting the previous version.

nk8: on a completely different issue (nearly) how do you delete bookmarks/ saved pages you no longer want?

No problems here, works fine.

I got the soft for P800 R2F.
I made a master reset.
I dl opera 6.2, install it on P800.
result is Kern-Exec 3 !!! with plenty of memory, everything uptodate, nothing else installed !

What can I do ? Any clue, idea ??? Thanks !

since installing the new version of opera i've had nothing but trouble it crashes so much more (kern exe etc etc) and when i click the web tab and then 'open web page' nothing happens the little box for me to type my URL does'nt pop up, whats up with this release!??

im not doing anything different than i was doing with version 6.1
so OPERA SORT IT OUT IT's BUGGY...

I haven't seen any problems with it at all -- installed it by emailing to the phone and clicking the .sis attachment.

I think it is a better version, seems a little quicker and the full screen mode is great. No stability issues at all, didn't get them with the prior version either, and I use the internet connection a lot.

Mine's installed on C: and I don't have a huge number of other TPAs so the phone is relatively "clean". Maybe you chaps are suffering from application interference? Got anything that hooks up the hard buttons (other than Handy Day 'cos I have that and it works fine)?

crashes about every other time I go into mobile msn to check my hotmail (just like the previous version!).

Except for that, it works perfectly.

Seems to run OK for me. One point though: When I've started it up and try to open a bookmark/ page it doesn't automatically start up any connection and comes up with "could not locate remote server"

The same for me!

I am installing it using PC Suite.
Maybe the .sis file should be dowloaded to the phone first?
How?

Dunno if this helps, but when I came to upgrade to 6.2, upon running the prog, it kept crashing. So I removed Opera from the P800 using uninstall. Despite removing it, I noticed Opera was still listed as a programme. Yet when I checked on installed programmes, it wasn't listed. And worse yet, it was still functioning!

Eventually found what the prob was. I remembered I had originally installed Opera to the memory card. Yet it wasn't listed in any of the lists when I explored My P800. So I did a reinstall of the 6.2 software and this time chose the location to install as "Memory Card". The install worked perfectly as did the programme. No crashes.

I should say that all the above was done using PC suite, etc.
