256Mb Duo

I wouldn't get too excited. They've had pricing and estimated availability of 60 days for the 128MB duo since Easter! Still no sign of them getting any in though.

The 256Mb Duo is NOT compatible with the P800. It's been tested by the people at P800er.

I've heard different.

The rumour is that the people who "tested" the 256 MB Memory Stick Duo said that it works exactly as a 128 MB Duo with one difference.Its split in two 128 MB partitions.

I think you are both right; 256MB will plug into a P800 and give you memory, but in two distinct banks of 128MB -- IIRC you have to flip a weeny switch on the DUO to tell it which bank to address.

P800 will only see 128MB at one time, though this is cool, cos in bank (a) you put Friends episodes to impress women, and on bank (b) the stuff you recorded off Men & Motors for when you are out with the lads. Means you are unlikely to inadvertently show the "wrong" video to your girlfriend, or worse, her mother.

But seriously, I hope it works! The limit of 128MB has always been a bit of a downside of the P800 to me. Wonder when these cards will be available...

P.S. JulesG, what if you buy a 512MB? Where do you have to fill those extra two banks with?😉 😃

any news on the P900's memory limitations?

if it supports the Duo Pro, then it's limitaion is the memory manufacturor's limitations 😛 , but if it's not, then u'll get stuck with the 128mb and nowhere else to go 😞

but as I've read, it will support PRO so cheer up 😃

512mb is now available!

That is MS DUO PRO which is not supported by the p800/p900.
