I seem to recall another user mentioning something about the message application acting up after filling up the SMS inbox with more than 1000 messages, but I cannot find the post..
Anyway, mine's been behaving rather strangely lately. I have now more than 1200 SMS's in my inbox, and started noticing a little slowdown in opening a new message, the message app displaying an error and closing down etc. All this started happening when I reached the 1000 mark.
I did a format not long ago, so my file system should be intact. I'm just wondering if there's anyone else here with more than a 1000 SMS's in their inbox experiencing the same thing, or not. Please let me know.

My thoughts exactly....surely some of them are not needed....I suggest some spring cleaning.😉
i have hundreds of sms in the general folder of the sms manager program, this doesn't show on the phone's sms client but does when i access the sms manager program, will these sms make the phone slower if the 1000 mark is exceeded? or is it stored in a different way or something
I just cleaned it up last month had bout 1500 msg in there and about the same outgoing no prob's at 1 point i had bout 1700 incoming and bout same outgoing olso no prob's

I've never had 1000 msgs in my inbox, but damn! that's too much man 😃, of course you will have problems with the messaging app, I've 200 SMS's and I'm having some problems 😃
Why don't you put all those messages on the PC, and start from zero again ? 😉
I had some problems with SMS where the phone will shut up or it will say the memory is to full and it won't even store it as draft. However I don't even have 100 messages in storage because I clean them up often I do have the Pjotter and I wonder if that was the reason. Do you use the Pjotter Raven?
I have about 2600 sms in total, and no problems at all so i dont think it is down to how many you have! Only seems to slow it down a bit in flip closed mode too. 😊
BUT WHY? - Come on you lot, justify your reasons for having all these messages!!!!!

Just to lazy to delete them since there is always a few i want to keep like jokes and stuff like that so i couldt not do a delete all
and i really was not in the mood to go through 3000+ msg so when i got desktopmessage i transfered them all to my pc

The problems I'm having might be caused by one of the betas I'm testing, I'll look into it. I don't use Pjotter btw.
I just like having that many messages! Its also good if someone wants to see one you got, or send one and they see how many are there and compare it to thier phone!
Always happy to help Raven! Mine used to crash on messages before the firmware upgrade, been fine since. Actually, now i think about it i dont think it has crashed at all since! 😃
