Hi, i havnt seen this before, but i got a problem! My P800 is not telling me when i get an SMS, i dont know if its doing it for any other message type. I have had quite a few since yeterday and had no vibrations, noises or even the little icon to let you know there are unread messages, but when i go into my messages app, they are there! The first page of messages where you choose what type to go into doesnt tell me there are any either. Its annoying to keep having to check manually! Anyone else had this or any ideas? 😕
No SMS notifications!
You're not one of those users with 1000+ messages in your inbox are you? That could have something to do with it if so. How much memory do you have free? Have you tried rebooting? Installed any new software recently that might be causing a conflict?
One thing I have noticed is that, at work, my phone is in silent mode and in the cradle. This means that I get no kind of audible alert. Just the little "New Message" icon. The phone will not vibrate if in the cradle.
Yeah, but ive had more with no problems! got 1300 at mo, but has been fine with 1700+ I have 2.9M free internal, only thing i have intalled recently is opera 6.2.
I get the same silence when in the cradle, with the little message telling you you have something waiting. Just uninstalling Opera and testing it...
Just turned it off and on again, had 5 message in there and it wasnt telling me in any way! except they were still in bold when i went in. Gonna backit up and then delte off phone
Do you have the thing for copying SMS's off your P800 onto your PC (SMSManager or something like that). Might be worth using that to archive them for a quick test. I assume it lets you copy them back onto your phone?
Rather than losing 1300 SMS's!
Rang Orange and they said i need a sim update, so they sent it but could take two hours to arrive! Hopefully that will fix it. I havnt any sms programs, i just did a backup first, will restore afterwards. Where can i get SMSmanager from? 😃
Sounds unlikely. Are they not refering to SMS delivery notifications?
Oh, and I assume SMS Manager (or whatever it's called) is available from andango (through the AAS link!). Though I don't claim to know much about it.
Just tried my other SIM and that works fine, so i must need the update! Not the phone at all!
