I'm afraid not. Or, at least, not without disabling the GSM reception of the phone (flight mode or turn it off!).

damn, this winds me up. Surely SE could just do a on/off with a firmware update or some bright spark could do it? I think it's gonna have to be some duct tape for now.

Out of interest does anyone else find this annoying or am I alone? When I'm in bed at night I have to cover the damn thing up or once my eyes have adjusted to the dark it feels like I've parked a car in my bedroom and left the hazzard lights on!

Put your car in the garage like everyone else (who has a car and a garage).

OR

Put your phone in the garage and when you park your car in the bedroom, turn the hazard indicators off.

Try placing the phone further away from yourself and point it in the opposite direction from where your head is (If your 😊 is here point the LED -->😉

Mine was a bit annoying at first, but i got used to it, the worst thing is when it ramdomly turns on the backlight when on the cradle, cos that lights up the room like a torch and always wakes me up! Leaving it in flight mode turns off the lights if you want it charging or for and alarm.

lol, ok so what your saing is that if i dont want the flashing to annoy me i shouldn't cover it with my face. Duct tape works well by the way, if a little unsightly. One day when I'm brave i might have a go at disconnecting the LED.

you could use the duct tape to fasten it to your head, solving the problem and creating a cheap handsfree in the process! 😃 😃
The LEDS are tiny surface mount jobbies, so would be interesting trying, might be able to safely remove the plastic array thingy tho, it would stop the light being directed striaght out, but you should get a slight glow if you needed it, and you could replace it if you neede to claim under warrenty and knowine would know you had opened it...

Only the blue LED bothers me. The green is very dim on my P800, so it doesn't bother me. Putting it face down always worked for me with my R520m and T68(i)😊

... but the flashing LED is quite handy; it changes rate to indicate that you have received messages etc. Helps if you are deaf and can't hear the phone. 😛

...and say like you were lost at sea after your ship went down, you could use it as a means of attracting attention to passing tankers and stuff.

i can't say i ever had problems with the LED, and i think that the bluetooth LED is pretty jazy, a nice neon blue kinda color. if you take out the LED though, won't it cut out the complete circuit from the phone? because the two connectors on the LED i thought continues the circuit.

each to their own. I'm now using Tipex which gets rid of the light and doesn't look too unsightly. I'm looking for a felt tip pen to match the blue so i can colour co-ordinate.
