In Contacts, when I edit (or view) an entry, the mobile number is defaulted to (W). Is there a way to choose that all entries use Mobile (H) instead?
Also, is there a way to change all my current entries from (W) to (H).

Not that I know of. However, you presumably know that you can change the number that is displayed in your contacts list?
In Contacts, select the contact you wish to alter, so that the details are showing. Select Edit>Show in list. Here you can choose the Preferred phone number that will be displayed in the list.
