In june I bought a P800 and for many months I didn't have any problem to connect to Internet (I live in Nicaragua where most of the connections are via dial-UP) until september.
First I go to my Internet provider to check the configurations and all is OK with it. Them I give the P800 to the technical department of my cell company and after 3 days returns me with a new firmware and a total reset.
The problem still the same.
I come back and they change my P800 with a new one BUT THE PROBLEM STILL THE SAME.
I'll very apreciate if someone can help me in this stranger and serious problem.

Here the process to try to connect to Internet:
1. CONNECT TO INTERNET: Account name:........ Phone number:........... CONNECT.
2. Dialling.
3. INFORMATION: Call was not answered.
Here the process to try with email messages:
1. Get&send.
2. Establishing network connection via IBW.
3. PROBLEM COPYING MESSAGES: Call was not answered.
It's not just something silly like the ISP has changed their dial-up phone number is it?
I'd go with that too, cuz it's not a problem from the phone, check ur SP for the latest settings!
if it gets to the stage of error copying the message, doesn't that mean that it's succesfully connected to the server first in order to get the error message? whereas if you weren't able to connect to the server, it would give a more definitive error message saying that their's a problem connecting to the server? these are just guesses, if possible, get an OTA message of the connection settings from your service provider and if it's the emails that you can't retrieve from the p800, try and see if you can retrieve the emails from another pop3 server
Although I can't offer an instant solution, a very similar error appeared when I was in the Channel Islands last,
I was trying a GSM dial-up to the local service provider, and copied exactly the settings of a bloke who lives there from his P800.
The GSM internet service at the far end would give me a call-not-answered code, but if I dial as a voice number it would "modem whistle" at me quite happily.
I think there is a setting on the network to do with data calls and your identity (SIM); it must be enabled for you to be able to dial up.
In Latvia and Russia, this bit is obviously on, 'cos my phone works there fine, but in Jersey neither Jersey Telecom nor Vodafone (with whom they even have a GPRS roaming agreement) could figure out why I could not connect, despite repeatedly asking me to restart the phone. So whatever the bit is, it is obscure.
Maybe your service provider has installed some new equipment and something got turned on or off by accident.
Or, maybe they have now changed their charging structures and want users to have a separate agreement for data calls?
Thanks to all for the kind attention with my problem.
Attending JulesG I went to my service cellular provider and after several hours and consult with diferents technics it seems that they have a problem to connect his GSM network with my internet provider.
They can explain me what is the problem. Also they do not mentioned when the problem can be resolve (???).
Regarding the separate rate or fees my service cellular provider ready charge separately data communication. I paid a $mount monthly.
So, I have a P800 that I decided to buy particulary because it can connect "without problems" with internet and email services. Now I use it only for voice call and as PDA.
Where can I connect to internet?... Nobody knows.
Thanks for all to all.
Please excuse me.
Instead "They can explain me what is the problem", you must read: They CAN'T explain me what is the problem.
I can emagine how u must be suffering, cuz after all that amount u've paid, u expect some services to b delivered, but u don't get anything 😡
I suggets u unsubscribe from these services till they get it fixed, otherwise u'll b paying for something u on't get!
Does your cellular service provider not have their own internet connection -- most countries do as it is built right into GSM.
Will normally be a shortcode number. You should be able to use this to get a connection.
handyguy: you have abossultely razon. i'll doit it right now!
julesg: at this time my cellular services provider don't have the internet services. so i have two accounts separately. do you know sometimes: maybe that is the idea... maybe the cellular provider is triying to install as a new services and for that razon it maybe have "connections problems" with another internet providers???
this sound not very ethical but it can happend (at least here).
when all is ok i am going to post here.
thanks to all.
