the ngage uses MMCs....

so question: wats the largest size of MMC the nokia ngage can SUPPORT ? (i know there are huge mmcs out there, but i've had devices that refuses to work with mmcs larger then 128mb)

Also, can i copy games from the games i bought over to my main (larger) mmc ?

The specs on http://www.n-gage.com mentions only 128MB MMCs.

N-Gage games sold on MMCs are copy protected, read-only cards and the games won't run if you copy the files off it onto another MMC (at least not until someone breaks the copy protection scheme they use).

Saw a picture of the Memory status field of a N-gage. It showed 499 MB free, so it supports larger MMCs than 128. 😎

Nokia just sells 128 MB as max...

did you really? ...and where was that? I can make a picture that says 5000MB free...

Tatuagem, some brands of 256 and 512 MB MMC's have been tested and are known to be working with the 3650.It should be no different with the N-Gage.

Qramohn has a point about Nokia not making MMC's above 128 MB thus not supporting MMC's above 128 MB.

I assume that because only certain brands of MMC card larger than 128MB work, Nokia are playing it safe by saying their products only support up to 128MB.

Really though the only reason I'd want more than 128MB on a card would be for MP3 storage and then I'd be wanting something in the region of 5GB+. Just imagine having the same storage as an iPod in your pocket! *drool*

heya im still waiting for the ngage to be released on orange before i get mine. in the mean time. On the website it says that mp3 files can only be played off 32, 64, and 128 but wat about films? wud i beable to put a film on a 512 card and play it on the ngage? cheers SAbz

I use a "Fazt" MMC 256MB on my N-Gage. Got 100MB worth of MP3s and over 100MB worth of RM movies and loads of other apps. Been deleting and adding for over a week now and everything works okay, no problems. Figure Nokia says it doesn't support anything above 128MB cause' they don't make MMCs above 128MB.

MMCs are cheap over here in Singapore. I bought my "Fazt" 256MB MMC with a 3 year warranty for around US$95. As soon as the 512MBs are available, you can bet I'll be getting one.
