I'm sorry to sound so dumb, but I need to connect to my laptop via irda through gprs, I dont know how to do it,
I can connect to my laptop using the modem on my phone which connects at something like 9kbs. But I need more help, I am on T-Mobile (UK) I have phoned them, but they cannot help (why do they have customer service or tech support)
I am hoping that one of you guys can help me, I am travelling on Friday, SO I would need it by then

Create a dialup on your PC like you have done for the phones modem.
But as a phone number use *99# which will tell the phone to use gprs rather than dialup

Will thanks 4 the info, but still having issues, it connects to the server, but cannot register on the network I get error 734 the PPP Protocol was terminated.

yes.
Goto control panel and open up the nokia modem control (cant remember the actual name of it) in the area for gprs APN enter general.t-mobile.uk
That normally does the trick.
Also make sure you have that APN set on your phone too in tools/setings/connections/gprs/access point
