Has anyone been able to stream with pvplayer?

I was just wondering if anyone has been sucessful in streaming video from your pc to your phone (3650) utilizing pvplayer, pvauthor, and Helix Universal server/

I have managed to use realone to stream via BT, but of course the video was below the maxium bandwidth that's supported (20kbs) which resulted in a stop motion playback. I would just really like to get pvplayer player to do this, but with vid in the 80kbs range.

I have no prob helping you with that. What I did firstly was set up a BT AP in tools--> settings -->connection-->Access points. I named it bluetooth dsl and for the data bearer I put GPRS

Access point name : none
User name: none
Prompt Password: No
Password : I left at default
Gateway IP address: 0.0.0.0

I then went into connection settings ---> GPRS and put

GPRS connection: When available
Access point : none

With that done you should have your BT connection set up and ready to use with realone, Doris, Webviewer, etc.

For realone I just went into the realone settings and choose BT as my default access point

I then got a hold of Helix Producer 9 and Helix Universial Server and encoded my movies using these settings:

56k for audience
voice
resize to 177x144
use real 8 codec instead of real 9
smoothest playback
uncheck the 2 pass radio button
uncheck "keep aspect ratio button"

and viola' press encode.

I saved the vid to my Helix Universal content folder and went into realone on my phone and choose open --> url and input what helix asks you to input to start streaming you files

rtsp://your ip address😛ort/filename.rm

after entering this your realone player should start to connect via BT and begin playing the file.

*NOTE* If you encode anything above 56k (32k actual) then realone will not be able to play because of the bandwidth limitation.

I am also able to stream using my Tzones (Which I pay $9.99 for unlimited) as not to be billed outrageously for GPRS usuage.

Hope this helps 😊

Thanks a lot nellj!I used to play with PVplayer and Darwing Streaming Server long time ago, without sucess though.

When you say

rtsp://your ip addressort/filename.rm
you mean the IP of my home network server(192.168.0.1),my public internet IP(IE: 212.110.95.56) or the loopback interface(127.0.0.1)?

PS:The before enyone else gets confused, the IP's are examples only 😉

Hi Nellj,

I try to follow your procedure, but everytime I try to connect my PC using RealOne, I get an error message : "Invalid GPRS Access Point". (My PC as Helix Server).
If I am using WEB/WAP Browser, I can connect my PC (My PC as Web Server).

Jozz

You set up your ap using BT correct? and your content is in the content directory of helix server? did you go to network places to get your NIC ip address and use it rtsp://youripaddress😛ort#/content ?
