...because,

coverage is totally unreliable (2feet can make a difference between working and not recieving).

The phone just decides to switch off by itself. I thought I had been doing it accidentally (although the keypad was locked) but I saw it happen twice yesterday and this morning as i tried to make a test call)

when the battery is on medium, I sometimes don't even recieve texts.

Sorry to see it go as I loive the unit, but I can't rely on it.

Ho hum

John

I have also had problems with the 3 coverage. I have decided to switch over to the Voice and Picture (o2) coverage. Much more reliable. I know it slightly defeats the object of having a 3g phone but atleast I can recieve my texts and emails. You can always switch back to 3 coverage when you want to use the video services.
However, I do share your frustration !

Trust me mate...wait for the 925..we ship in a month.
the screen is night and day!!! its beautiful. better caseing too. same size though.

most of you will like to know that the 920 WILL take 925 software.
It will enable the BT 😊
the screen will still be crap compared to the 925 though.

The reception problem isn't an issue for the attention of Motorola, more for the attention of 3. My wife and I both bought phones last week. I ofcourse went for the A920, my wife, deciding the A920's looks were far too masculine, (notice no mention of functionality) decided to get the NEC. In our first week of ownership, weve made 1 video call; and we were in the same room! If it wasn't for the free 750 minutes , I'd have sent them back myself. I have to keep reminding myself that this is a new technology, at least in the uk, and that the more people like us give 3 our well earnt cash, hopefully the better the network will become. Remember how crap one-2-one was back in the day. Okay may be a bad example!

hi ppl, how do i force-change my a920 from 3g coverage to 2.5g as when in video coverage, reception for normal calls is not as reliable as when in voice & picture coverage areas!

Also, phone always crashes & displays errors and often fefuses to send sms msg's!! & have never been able to send an mms msg, tries sending then always fails!

Many thanks Ags

with 3 in manchester, when you start making a phone call at one end of the market street, by the time you get to the other end, you would have been disconnected around two times and roamed onto o2's network, however, each time it roams onto o2, it cuts you off the phone call. it is rather humerous when people come into the link and they start shouting about their problems over the phone in our store to 3g's customer service call centers in india i think

Probably a stupid question, but when using o2 coverage, can u still use your free minutes, etc as normal or do u get billed as i agree that o2 coverage is alot more reliable!!!!!! Thanx

Can you guys give me a tip???

I live in Denmark. Have seen the A920 in the shops and I am hooked. I reckon that it looks great. What I particularly like is:
* synch with outlook
* email on the go
* built in road maps for Denmark.

My question is this:
I am a heavy mobile phone user, I don't have a landline. I make and receive many phone calls on my nokia 3410 - which is just a standard mobile phone.

How realiable is the A920?

Will I regret my purchase?

I would appreciate your comments.
