Can't find file during restore

After an ex-friend dropped a teabag on my phone and killed the screen as a result, those nice people at Vodafone gave me a new handset.

During the restore I get a series of messages citing file or folder names stating "The file could not be found".

Things like "c:\system\ir", and stuff in the mail folders.

The restore seems to have worked fine, but I am intruiged as to what is going on here -- how can you "not find" a file in the restore set?

Without taking things apart myself, is it an index in the backup that does not reflect a stored file, or maybe the restore is trying to compare what is in the restore with what is on the phone?

had this problem once when I had to format the internal drive, so when I did a restore process, it gave me some can't find file errors but this didn't affect any of my previous settings, contacts or softwares.

that's y I go to ur guess: the device tries comparing installed files with the restored ones (can't understand y) but it might b for not installing over original programsm like phone or beamer or camcorder, cuz they might b upgraded with firmware upgrade.

i would assume that a full format of the phone would solve this problem if it is reffering to the built in infra red, but if it's just an external programme like IR remote control or the other one which i can't remember what it's called, then it could be related to that? but i'm just guessing here. 😕

I believe "c:\system\ir" is related to the infrared software not "ir remote control" or "total remote", so it's from system softwares not ones that u install later.

but I think the restoring process is not affected with these errors, as I found all my files were back to normal after restore.
