i tried some ways to format my phone but its didnt work at all....
1) i tried *#7370#
2)install system tool and format phone
but its didnt work...i just restore factory setting and my phone data are still available....
what should i do to format my phone?

*#7370# should work. Did you type it in the Idle screen (where you'd dial a number)?
Did you get the propmpt to enter the security code and did you enter the correct one?
If not, then please explain what "didnt work" means, exactly. What, exactly, did you type? What, exactly, did happen (what was displayed)?

tried the above number method on idle screen. but after wards the data is still there... what can i do to format the above mentioned method doesnt work..niether does rthe method for 6600

dear friend...u have to use a proper promer to do so...and the phone shouldn't be connected to the normal batt. f u have the tools, the phone should be on 12 volts DC. and then u will be able to format ur phone ...dont use that number thing it will erase only the list and stuff like that...after u formated u have to re program the phone and put the rigth soft ware..ok...
try it and plz tell me and reply back to me..
so as i understand...the phone should be without the battery but connected to power adapter....then put the number *#7370# then it will format...
what do you mean that i will have to program the phone...??and use right software .. can you please explain!

That is the biggest load of BS i've ever heard. blackham and zohaer21 want to format/hard reset their devices and not flash new firmware.N/A is right - *#7370# should work and after you type it it should request the phone lock code.

heres how my worked.. i finally got the phone to format.. i took out the mc card ..then formatted by using the above number...
violoa....clean as being brand new..!
another way for those for whom the number doesnot work if you have psiloc's system tools..then use its format phone option.. i tried that too and it works!
this way of using numbers and stuff like that it will only erase the visual memory and it will just put it in onther location in the flash memory, which will be nearly like doing defrag..
but the real format and the safe one is to do the promer format, which in fact will format the memory(or the hard disk if u want) and then update and put the new software..if u dont have the right tools for it, go to the nearest mobile shop to do it 4 u ........
More BS.the engineer,that is not true.The code *#7370# does a hard reset,meaning all data from the phone's c:\ drive is gone/erased and not stored in another location.
