There is a leaked beta video recorder which records for ten seconds only, but since it was never meant for release it would be illegal (and against forum rules) to spread it.

You won't post links to a leaked beta video recorded but you are happy to post links and pictures of a supposed new SE phone, which if true, would have been leaked. Oooh...double standards or what!

I understand how you can reach that conclusion, but there is a big difference here. The beta video recorder from Phillips was never meant for release, where Phillips themselves contacted us, and other websites, asking us not to distribute it.

As for the P900 pictures we decided not to remove them unless we got word from SE asking us to do so. The same goes for hundreds of other websites/newssites posting these pictures.

Putting aside the fact that I agree with Raven (I don't consider it double standards) we went through this ages ago, spleens were vented, noses were put out of joint etc. etc. Lets not go through it all again.

Yes, but we would still not allow links to/charing software on this board which origin cannot be proven. We have a no-tolerance policy when it comes to warez/cracks/hacks etc. (illegally distributed software), and software which cannot be proven legitimate will be considered as such. When it comes to leaked pictures of prototypes etc., that is more of a grey area.

Like Bassey mentioned, the software we're talking about, leaked prototype pictures and AAS's policy have been thoroughly discussed in this thread.

Sorry if I've explained myself poorly this time (I'm very tired today), but if you read the above mentioned thread, it think it should be clearer. 😊

i can't even remember the name of that program now, but they said that the video recorder for the p800 would be released end of august, i've still not heard anything from them yet, they made one for the 7650...i just can't remember the name of them, i could probably find it out....but i'm too tired 😃

Just one word... that beta Camcoder is an completly useless and buggy software.
Very poor quality, no sound.... just good to show off, i can see no use of it in that stadium of developpement.😃

Hi, To all with the impending release of the p900, what if anything can we do to get a video recorder onto the p800 (as i got an upgrade last year for my nokia 7650 which as you all know records for 15 seconds)

Intrest in this topic would be appreaciated

Thats too bad 😞 ETI Camcorder is an excelent application.This wouldn't happen if SE actually has some support for small developers.

I belive they stopped developing this software cuz SE launched it's own with the P900, so maybe if we are lucky we can get the p900 camcorder in the p800 😕

The word from the developers was that they were having hard time finding a way to capturing images fast enough in order to encode them in to a video(or something like it)because there was no API that could provide such a feature.I guess they gave up after a while.

anyway, we won't have any camcorder for P800 till SE guys get the P900 camcorder upgrade for P800 ... would that happen? 😕

Unlikely, it's stored on the ROM...and is designed to work from the ROM, you would need to re compile the application, and without the source there is no chance of that.

Well, that's my understanding of it anyway.

As far as i'm aware the execute in place instructions could be bypassed.It would be illegal of course 😉
