Yes M$ are at it again, and the EULA for Win2000 ServicePack3 tells you that you are installing spyware (in roundabout lawyer terms, as pointed out by El Reg here http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/26698.html). At this point I'm feeling left out, I'm using a hacked up version of Win98 (Win98 lite) on my laptop (my only windoze box, purely for games) that has no IE, non active desktop, and pretty much no to the other bloat that's unnecessary for my day to day use. The rest of my PCs use BeOS and all run freeware apps, with the odd bit of shareware thrown in, and 1, yes only 1 commercial app being my office suite.
I'm a free thinker, a radicalist, a, a, a person who wants stuff for nothing or very little cost, a person who DOESN'T want spyware on all their computers. You never know the next service pack for the Pocket PC may contain M$ same rights to spyware, if you end up on an internet enabled Bluetooth network, or even use a phone to use it online.
M$ decide to take more freedom from you, but unless I'm mistaken it's illegal to use spyware in the UK, therefore people should be legally entitled to ask for a spyware free version? Hmmms, well, pigs fly in the Zurich advert on telly....
