P800 discontinued

Well hopefully the P900 will soon appear in its place 😉

After saying I will get the next series 60 device to come out (I did not expect to wait this long though) I'm very tempted by the P900. It seems to address what I did not like about the P800 i.e. it has T9 and a proper keypad.

each time i think of orange and the sep800, i always just think about there own customization on the phone and also low firmware, they probably did release the phone with the more updated firmwares but i just always heard complaints that it was with the old firmware

There wasnt much Orange customisation, only the Orange logo on the case really, anything alse you can change yourself! My phone even deleted the Orange startup/shutdown vids itself! Mine came with early firmware, but only cos i got it the day it came out! 😉

Yeah, surely Orange were the first UK network to get the P800 online anyway?

Nope, Vodafone were 😊

So, presumably, if I were to "Drop" my fully insured P800, just after it is discontinued, my replacement phone would be a P900?

Mmmm, I wonder if you can restore a P800 backup to a P900?

😊 😊 😊

Bassey, backing up the C: drive would probably screw up your p900,backing up the Memory Stick should be no problem.

BTW:They will probably replace it with a refurbished p800.

Probably. Though a friend of mine genuinely dropped his T68 just after the T68i came out (screen died) and received the updated model as a replacement from his insurers.

Mine "stopped working" 😉 months after the launch of the T68i, and all I got was a T68m - with the original firmware! Had to get it upgraded at CPW.

mine is fully insured by an external insurer - they wouldnt have access to graded handsets like orange do - surely they would just try to get a new p800 on orange, which is discontinued so i get a p900? please someone give me advice as my p800 is fuking up anyway!

Guys, that doesn't make sense at all 😃

SE will always have P800 in stock, just for replacement thing.
But I think it will take ages to get another P800 from your local service center.

Well, the expansys "Deal of the Day" (usually used to clear stock) today is the P800 and yesterday was the P800 expansion jacket. I notice that SE's eShop has been out of stock for a while as well.
