Boost BT range?

Is there a way of extending a Bluetooth range? At the moment i think mine is 10metres. then my phone disconnects.

Or is this the full extent of Bluetooth Technology?

any alternatives?

As far as i know, there are classes in bt technology
class 1: 100-150m range
class 2: 10-30m range

i looked after it a few months ago, but unfortunately i couldn't find any useful information. have to buy more expensive bt to have bigger range 😞

Maybe i'm wrong but i think there are three classes.

Class 1:to 200 m.
Class 2:to 100 m.
Class 3:to 10-15 m.

The BT chipset on most smartphones i Class 3 and you can't do anything to boost its range.

Like i said,you can boost your phone's BT range.Class 1 chipsets are mainly used for home and office PC networks.

As far as I know there are only 2 classes.

Class I - 100m range

Class II - 10m range.

The 3650 smartphone is a Class II device.

You can boost your BT range but only within the class.
I tried 3 kind of BT dongles because I couldn't get them to work in the beginning and went back to the store to exchange them but when I got them working I noticed that the range of two of them was clearly different.

The MyComm dongle for instance is nice and small but its range was less than of the MSI dongle.
By the way, you only reach the 10 - 30 meters in an open field.
In that sense you can boost the range by bying a better dongle.

No you can't.It depends on your phone's BT chipset which is still class 2 and has range of 10 to 15 meters.

Yes you are right. 😮

But what I wanted to say is that depending on the BT device you use on your PC, your range will be between the +/- 5 and 15 meters.
This range you can influence.
