newbie question. Are All series 60 SmPH Compatible with each other?

as the title says, im a total newbie in the field, just realised how advanced the smartphones are..
im generaly a nokia fan and im currenlty drooling over the 3660 only cause of the sheer amount of applications that are free to download all over the internet. but i see all those lovely new devices and im wondering. are all applications compatible with all series 60 phones? for example doom, will it play on the new sendo? if it does that sort of kills brand loyalty . if it doesnt then nokia still has the upper hand by sheer popularity of its smart phones...

also i heard the 6600 will use symbian 7.0, anyone knows what the 3660 uses? and if its a good enough criteria to choose a smartphone?

its my first post.. be gentle!

6600 will use Symbian OS 7.0s (note the 's'😉 and Series 60 2.0.

3660 will use Symbian OS 6.1 and Series 60 1.2 as all other currently announced Series 60 phones besides the 6600 (and 7650 had something like Series 60 0.9).

Anyway, Series 60 1.2 apps will run unmodified on Series 60 2.0 devices, assuming they use only public, documented APIs.

Series 60 2.0 apps will run on Series 60 1.2 devices, if the developer only uses compatible APIs and no 2.0 extensions.

In other words, in general, all current applications should run on all current and most, if not all, forthcoming Series 60 devices, too.

So, yes, they are compatible.
