Help With USB Problem Please!!

7 replies · 2,701 views · Started 24 October 2003

Ello.
I can't connect me N-Gage to the computer.
I think the drivers I had installed before got corrupted.
I got the drivers off the cd, and tried to install em again, but couldn't.
Could someone help me please?
Thanks

What drivers (in most cases you shouldn't need any)? What's your PC running? Windows? What version (95, 98, ME, 2000, XP)? What are the exact errors/behaviour you see?

You should really only have plug in the USB cable and the N-Gage MMC should be visible as a new drive in Explorer (assuming you have Windows).

XP Pro.
It was working fine before, and it does install drivers, but I believe they are hidden.
The names are:
IAIos.pdr
IAUsb
IAIosNGAGE
IAUsbNGAGE

Well, then, if you're brave, delete all references to them from the registry, delete USB from Device Manager, reboot & let Plug & Play find USB again.

Then connect the N-Gage (without installing anything) & see what happens.

Start -> Run... regedt32 (or regedit)

Select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT

Select the "Find" option on the menus, enter the driver name & off you go.

Be careful not to delete anything you shouldn't.

Are you sure it installs files ? not sure it needs em in any case, ive plugged my ngage in via usb to a works machine which is locked out, cant install / dload anything to the machine but the ngage worked fine.
